Who is responsible
ModbusTool is developed and sold by Sabahattin Kalkan, an independent developer based in Baku, Azerbaijan. For any privacy question, write to hello@sabahattinkalkan.com.
The app
ModbusTool communicates only with the Modbus devices, serial ports and network addresses you choose. It does not contact any server of ours. Settings, connection profiles, labels, point lists, logs and recordings are stored in your Windows user profile, and files you export are saved where you choose. The license key is stored and verified on your computer; activation needs no internet connection.
Buying a license
The checkout is provided by Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your name, e-mail address, billing country, tax details and payment information, and processes them under the Paddle privacy notice. We do not receive your card or payment details.
After payment, our license server reads the order from Paddle and stores, for license delivery, support and refund handling:
- the Paddle order (transaction) id and the number of seats;
- your e-mail address, and the company or customer name shown as licensee;
- the license key, its issue date and update period.
The license server runs on a virtual server we rent from Hostinger; the provider hosts the server and does not use the data. We do not send marketing e-mail. When we e-mail you your license key or write to you about your license, we use the address from your order and send it from our own mail server on the same virtual server; no third-party e-mail service is involved.
Retention
Order and license records are kept for as long as the license can be used, so a lost key can be resent, and as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can ask us to delete your record; a deleted record cannot be used to resend the key.
This website
The website is static. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising. Paddle’s checkout script loads only after you press Buy on the ModbusTool page. The server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page) for security, for a short period.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR give you rights to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to its processing. Write to hello@sabahattinkalkan.com. For payment data, you can also contact Paddle directly.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
